Sant Pere Canyon
Description
Canyoning involves overcoming various sections and changes in the route, either by walking, swimming, climbing, or rappelling, if needed. In Sant Pere, we find a rappel, various jumps, slides, and natural pools carved into the rock.
The arrival time at the ROCROI activity center will be indicated to you upon confirmation of your reservation. Once at the center, you can use the parking to park your vehicle. The first step is to check in at the reception of our center, located on the second floor. Once there, we will confirm your reservation, and the reception staff will provide you with the necessary instructions before starting the activity.
Once organized, you will be notified to collect your equipment and change in the locker rooms of our facilities. Then, you will travel to the starting point of the canyon with your own vehicle. You will need to leave your clothes and belongings in your cars, and the car keys will be kept by the guides.
Once you have put on the neoprene gear, we will provide you with the helmet and harness, and then we will approach the canyon by hiking. Once there, the guide will give you the final explanations before starting the activity.
The Sant Pere canyon is made of conglomerate, located in the Collegats Gorge, a few kilometers from the town of La Pobla de Segur.
The approach path to the canyon passes through old steep trails crossing the gorge and leading us to the beginning of the canyon. At the head of the canyon, a few minutes from the starting point, are the ruins of the old Sant Pere chapel built into the rock.
The vegetation and climate change; we are in a Mediterranean area, with the scent of lavender and pine trees, making the ascent more enjoyable. We will have fantastic views of the Collegats canyon. The canyon includes a 6-meter rappel, several easy jumps, and slides leading to water pools.
