Telemark skiing is a technique that allows the heel to lift freely from the ski. It originated around 1820 in the Telemark region of southern Norway. The Norwegian skier Sondre Norheim helped develop this style of skiing, which declined in popularity in the early 20th century with the rise of alpine skiing. After initially being used mainly as a means of getting around, telemark skiing re-emerged as a recreational activity during the 1960s and 1970s. It has since regained popularity thanks to the freedom of movement it offers, its technical challenges and the unique sensations it provides.

Andorra has 16 equipped routes with different levels of difficulty, from beginner to advanced. Andorran via ferratas are classified on a scale of 6 levels: K1 easy, K2 fairly easy, K3 somewhat difficult, K4 difficult, K5 very difficult, and K6 extremely difficult. For beginners, we recommend via ferratas lasting between 2 and 3 hours, with easy progression, such as those detailed below: Clots de l'Aspra Via Ferrata, difficulty K1: located in the Cortals d'Encamp. It is a very well-equipped route with easy progression, featuring 70 metres of elevation gain at an altitude of around 2,200 m. You will find ladders, chains, and Tibetan bridges, with easy progression along the rock. Canal de la Mora Via Ferrata, difficulty K1: located in Canillo. As its name suggests, it runs through a narrow gorge and is very easy. It has two variants offering excellent views of the village of Canillo. Around 150 metres of progression, which can be complemented by climbing to the viewpoint along the ridge. Creu del Noral Via Ferrata, difficulty K2: located in Ordino, in the Segudet forest, next to the ravine of the same name. Enjoy magnificent views of Ordino, with 150 m of elevation gain and vertical sections at the beginning, as well as chain-equipped sections to complete the route. Available from November 1, 2025 to October 31, 2026. Every day at 9.00 am and 3.00 pm. Minimum 2 people. This viewpoint has already become one of the most famous places in Canillo. A place open to everyone and unbeatable for understanding the greatness of our small country. You can't miss it! Although it is not at the foot of the road, getting to the viewpoint is easy. After climbing the Coll d'Ordino road (CS-240), the viewpoint is at km 6.5. Just before reaching it, there is a large parking area on the left. From here, the path to the viewpoint is a few steps away. The access point is dominated by the imposing presence of the self-generating structures, a sculptural ensemble created in 1991 by the Mexican sculptor and architect Jorge Dubon. The three totems are a clear example of the artist's life trajectory, seen as "a symbol of man's will in the face of the immensity of the mountains." From the area, in about ten minutes of descent, with a difference in altitude of 70 m, we reach the Roc del Quer viewpoint platform, located just over 400 meters away. It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes for the tour. It is mandatory to bring the access ticket issued by the Mirador to gain access.

Sant Vicenç d'Enclar Via Ferrata, difficulty K2: this route takes us to the medieval hermitage of Sant Vicenç d'Enclar, dating back to the 12th century. It also offers magnificent views of Andorra la Vella. It is an intense ascent, very well equipped with chains and vertical sections. With 170 m of elevation gain, it is a great way to enjoy the surrounding landscape. Roc del Quer Via Ferrata, difficulty K3: also known as the Directissima, with more than 300 m of vertical elevation gain. It is particularly interesting for its altitude and exposed sections, so it is better suited to those who are not afraid of heights. It is a classic route and a highly recommended experience.
