BEFORE CROSSING

Andorra customs limits: what happens if you exceed them

Allowances are personal and have exceptions. Three rules worth knowing before reaching the border.

Per person and not cumulative

Two travelers cannot combine their €900 for an item worth €1,800. For those under 17, no alcohol or tobacco.

If you exceed an allowance

Declare it and pay taxes on the excess. If you don't declare it, you may be fined and the goods confiscated.

Specific regulations

Medicines, plants, pets, and weapons have their own procedures. More than 10,000 € in cash must be declared.

WHAT TO CARRY

What they might ask for at customs

At customs, they may ask for the valid ID (DNI) or passport of each traveler, including minors, and the receipts for what you have purchased: these are proof of the value you are carrying.

If you are traveling by car and entering Spain, you can carry a full tank and a reserve can of up to 10 liters. Before leaving, check traffic at the Andorra border.
