Andorra in 1 day: what to see and do, hour by hour

If you're coming for a day trip from Spain or France, this is the plan: morning in the historic center or in the mountains, lunch, afternoon of shopping or Caldea, and dinner before returning. Each plan is booked separately, online.

BEFORE YOU GO

Before crossing the border: three things that save you time

The border, mobile data, and parking are what waste the most time on a day trip. Here's how to avoid it.

Border traffic

If you come on Saturday, enter via La Farga de Moles (from Spain) or Pas de la Casa (from France) before 9:00 or after 14:00. To return on Sunday, it's better before 15:00 or after 20:00.

Data without roaming

Andorra is not in the European Union roaming zone: with your plan, data is charged separately. Install an eSIM before leaving home and use your phone from the first minute.

Parking and taxis

At midday, parking in the center of Andorra la Vella is expensive. Leave your car in a parking lot and travel by taxi between parishes: no internal journey takes more than an hour.

MORNING · 9:00 – 13:00

Morning: the historic center or the Tibetan bridge

Two ways to start. If it's your first time, the center of Andorra la Vella on foot: the Barri Antic, Casa de la Vall, and a good hot chocolate. If you prefer the mountains, go up to Canillo and cross the Tibetan bridge.

MIDDAY · 13:00 – 15:00

Midday: eat in Andorra la Vella without losing the afternoon

Four restaurants in the capital with food service: Mediterranean cuisine, Portuguese and Catalan dishes, aged beef burgers, or tapas with craft beer.

AFTERNOON · 15:00 – 19:30

Afternoon: shopping on Meritxell Avenue or Caldea

Both fit into the same afternoon: the shops on Meritxell Avenue continue along Carlemany Avenue to Caldea, in Escaldes-Engordany. If you shop, remember that there are limits per person when returning.

EVENING · 20:00 ONWARDS

Evening: dinner of Andorran cuisine before returning
