Every summer, for over a decade, the Principality of Andorra becomes the stage for one of the most special events in the Mediterranean: the exclusive show of Cirque du Soleil. The Canadian company —the most renowned in the world for contemporary circus— does not present one of its touring productions here. What it does in Andorra is different and more ambitious: it creates a completely new show, designed from scratch and solely for this country.

The 2026 edition is called Ràdio Andorra, and it is the eleventh exclusive production that Cirque du Soleil premieres in the Principality. Following the successes of Scalada, Diva, Rebel, MŪV, Festa, Sublim and Il·lu —the latter with 82% occupancy and 84% international audience—, the company returns with a proposal that is, at the same time, a tribute to the history of Andorra and a world-class show.

This year's venture carries enormous symbolic weight: the legendary radio station Ràdio Andorra as the protagonist of a story of love, jazz, travel, and acrobatics that spans across Europe.

The story behind the show: the radio station that united Europe

To understand why this show is so special, it's worth knowing the real story that inspired it.

Ràdio Andorra was a commercial radio station that broadcast from the Principality between 1939 and 1981. Founded by the French entrepreneur Jacques Trémoulet and with its broadcasting center in Encamp, it was inaugurated on August 7, 1939. Thanks to Andorra's neutrality during World War II, it became the only private European French-language station that broadcast without interruption throughout the conflict, completely outside of both Allied and Nazi control.

Its waves reached all of Spain, France, North Africa, and points as far away as the United States. It was, in the words of the Product and Events Director of Andorra Turisme, the first major promotional campaign Andorra launched to the world. And it was so powerful that French authorities tried for decades to pressure the Andorran government to silence it, without success. It broadcast until March 26, 1981, when the Andorran State ordered the cessation of broadcasts to nationalize radio broadcasting.

Cirque du Soleil takes this sound memory and transforms it into theater, music, and acrobatics. The plot begins with an almost magical coincidence: two strangers, separated by thousands of kilometers, request the same song from Ràdio Andorra at the same instant. Drawn by this chance, they embark on a journey through Europe that will eventually lead them to Andorra. A love letter to the airwaves that unite hearts across borders —and which, unintentionally, reflects what Andorra has always been: a meeting point between two worlds.

Dates, times, and location of the show

When

Ràdio Andorra by Cirque du Soleil is performed from July 3 to August 2, 2026, with 22 performances in total. Performances are held every Tuesday (except July 7), Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The cycle closes with an extraordinary performance on Sunday, August 2.

At what time

The show starts at 22:00 and has an approximate duration of 60 minutes. Before the start, from 21:40, a pre-show animation is offered on site. The organization recommends arriving with enough time to enjoy the full experience.

Where

The show takes place in the Prada Casadet car park (City Bus Center), located in front of the Government of Andorra building, in the heart of Andorra la Vella. The venue has a capacity for 3,150 people per show and features a snack bar area, cloakroom, official show store, and pre-show entertainment area.

Luminous arches in the shape of inverted antennas, inspired by the stained glass windows of the historic radio station, structure the space, while the set evolves with the rhythm of the story: from a period cabaret to a popular festival in the Pyrenees.

Live Music

The musical direction is inspired by the repertoire of Cirque du Soleil and the sounds of the Trente Glorieuses: jazz, swing, big band. Two live singers —Blaza and Nicole— embody the anonymous voices of Ràdio Andorra with a powerful and harmonious vocal duo.

The Characters

In addition to the singers, the cast includes Gloria and Lasso, the two strangers who request the same song from opposite ends of Europe, and The Bojangles, tap dancers who bring radio waves to life and guide the protagonists on a rhythmic journey.

Acrobatics: four world premieres in Andorra

The show includes a dozen acrobatic acts, with four of them completely new presented as a world premiere in the Principality. Among these premieres, one of the most anticipated is a Tissu (aerial silks) act of a frenetic nature that Cirque du Soleil had never before presented on any stage in the world. A privilege that very few cities can offer.

Costumes and makeup

Inspired by European cabarets of the 1940s and 1950s, the costumes combine the eccentric elegance of the music hall with oriental influences and art deco prints. A rich, colorful visual signature typical of the European renaissance era that the show recreates.

How to get to the venue and where to park

The venue is located in the Centre Ciutat Busos car park (Prada Casadet), right in the heart of Andorra la Vella, opposite the Government building. The area is very accessible from anywhere in the center.

On foot

From the main shopping avenues —Avinguda Meritxell and Avinguda Carlemany— it's just a few minutes' walk. If you are staying in the center of Andorra la Vella, the venue will most likely be a pleasant stroll from your hotel.

By bus

The Estació Nacional d'Autobusos (National Bus Station) is only 130 meters from the venue. It is the most convenient option if you are arriving from Spain or France, or if you are staying in another parish of the Principality.

By car

You can also access by private vehicle. There are several public and private car parks nearby. Since the show starts at 10:00 PM, traffic in the center is usually lighter than during the day, but it is advisable to arrive with a reasonable time margin and have your parking located in advance.
