The Nits d'Estiu als Museus d'Andorra 2026 are the most anticipated cultural cycle of the Andorran summer: 64 free activities (with mandatory prior reservation) that transform museums, lakes, and heritage sites into stages for astronomy, medieval music, open-air cinema, and dramatized visits. Organized by the Taula de Museus d'Andorra under the motto "Activities that captivate you", they are held from June 16 to September 15, 2026, in all parishes of the country. If you are looking for unique summer experiences in Andorra, you will hardly find anything better.
1. Why the Nits d'Estiu are essential in 2026
This edition has a special ingredient: the MW Museu de l'Electricitat is temporarily closed for renovations, which means that all FEDA Cultura activities are concentrated outdoors around Lake Engolasters, at an altitude of 1,616 meters. The result is an incomparable natural setting: dark skies, calm water, and the backdrop of Andorra's hydroelectric heritage.
Furthermore, 2026 marks the 15th edition of the Pyrenees Ancient Music Festival (FeMAP) and the 50th anniversary of the Meritxell Sanctuary, two milestones that enrich the program beyond the usual. With 64 proposals in total and limited places, many activities —especially star shower observations— sell out in a few hours.
Key data for the 2026 edition:
Data | Detail |
Number of activities | 64 cultural proposals |
Period | June 16 – September 15, 2026 |
Cost | Free (with mandatory reservation) |
Organizer | Taula de Museus d'Andorra + FEDA Cultura |
Star venue | Lake Engolasters, Encamp |
FEDA Activities | 10 proposals (astronomy, music, theater, cinema) |

3. Astronomy under the Andorran sky
Andorra has one of the lowest light pollution rates in Europe, and Lake Engolasters, located over 1,600 meters high in the parish of Encamp, is one of the best observation points in the country. FEDA Cultura programs four astronomical nights in 2026, each accompanied by an informative talk by the team from Detrás del Cielo:
- July 10: Stellar remnants and observation of the Milky Way + Andromeda galaxy
- July 24: Astronautics and observation of the Moon + Venus
- August 14: Fermi Paradox + Perseids (star night of the cycle, very limited capacity)
- Daytime solar observation on July 10 for families with children
Local tip: If you book the Perseids night on August 14, bring warm clothing even if it's hot during the day. At 1,616 m, the nighttime temperature drops significantly.
Spots for astronomical observation activities sell out within hours. If you're still eager to observe the stars, you can book one of our related activities on our website
4. Medieval Concerts: FeMAP comes to the lake
The 15th Pyrenees Early Music Festival (FeMAP) is consolidated in 2026 as one of the major trans-Pyrenean cultural events. In Andorra, four concerts distributed throughout the country are part of the festival, with two of them linked to FEDA's Summer Nights in Engolasters:
July 18 – Ensemble Musicantes Quartet specializing in late Middle Ages music with recreated historical instruments. The concert takes place by the lake, preceded by a guided tour of the Camí Hidroelèctric. A unique combination of industrial heritage, nature, and ancient music.
FeMAP also reaches Hotel Rosaleda in Encamp, Santa Coloma church, the parish of Sant Julià de Lòria, and other venues. General festival tickets include access to over 40 additional free activities, guided tours, and heritage walks.

5. Theatrical Visits: history with humor
Theatrical visits are the most family-friendly and accessible proposal of the Summer Nights. In 2026, FEDA Cultura revives and renews the most successful one from previous editions:
"Dolça FHASA" (August 8) The company Les Il·luminades builds a story set in 1930s Andorra, when Mrs. Rosa was looking for investors to electrify the country. Lluïsa and Carmeta —wives of FHASA workers— have other plans. The result is a show of humor and historical memory that travels along the Camí d'Engolasters full of anecdotes and artisanal jams.
Beyond FEDA, the global program of Nits d'Estiu includes other theatrical performances: "A Suitcase at Casa Cristo" in Encamp and candlelit visits to the village of Les Bons, among others.
6. Open-air cinema at Engolasters Lake
FEDA Cultura consolidates its commitment to open-air summer cinema in 2026 in collaboration with the Ull Nu Festival:
"Solan & Eri, Mission to the Moon" (August 29) An animated film about a lunar journey, perfect for the whole family. The setting of Engolasters Lake, with the natural darkness of the mountain, turns the screening into an immersive experience.
The rest of Andorra's open-air cinema cultural program includes sessions in Andorra la Vella (Plaça del Poble), Santa Coloma (Disney's Fantasia), and the Museu La Massana Còmic with a series dedicated to classic 1930s horror cinema: Dracula, Frankenstein and The Mummy.
7. Activities in other museums and parishes
The Nits d'Estiu go far beyond Engolasters. The program of 64 activities is spread throughout the country:
Encamp Visits to La Mosquera and the church of Santa Eulàlia, candlelit tours through the village of Les Bons, and the scavenger hunt "The Secret of Cal Cristo".
Ordino Wine tasting paired with baroque history at the Casa Museu d'Areny-Plandolit. An evening especially recommended for couples and wine lovers.
Canillo Conferences at the National Automobile Museum (Cinema and Trains, Engine and Memory) and tasting of artisanal sausages and beer at the Motorcycle Museum. Also a talk about "The Flight of the Flag in Meritxell".

10. Insider tips to enjoy it to the fullest
After several editions covering the Nits d'Estiu, these are the tips that make a difference:
Book well in advance. Spots for the Perseids on August 14th and for "Dolça FHASA" literally sell out in hours once registrations open. Don't wait until the week of the event.
Bring warm clothing even if it's August. Engolasters is at 1,616 m. Nights are cool even in mid-summer. A fleece or windbreaker jacket is essential for nighttime astronomical events.
Arrive early for parking. The road leading to the lake can get congested during popular events. Allow an extra 15-20 minutes if you're driving.
Combine activities on the same day. On July 10th, there's solar observation at 7:00 PM and night observation at 10:00 PM. If you have reservations for both, it's perfect for experiencing a full day of astronomy in Engolasters.
The documentary "Echo of Greenland" has three screenings on August 1st. If one session is full, try another. Director Nicolas Samsoen will be at all three.
Photography: Lake Engolasters is one of the best spots for night photography in Andorra. If you have a camera with long exposure mode, the Perseid nights offer exceptional conditions.
What exactly are the Nits d'Estiu?
