Where to park in Encamp: practical guide with parking lots, blue zone, and summer tips

Parking in Encamp is cheaper and simpler than in Andorra la Vella or Escaldes-Engordany if you know three things: which zone suits you best depending on how long you'll be staying, which days the blue zone is free, and which communal parking lot to choose if you're spending the whole day. Where should you park according to your plan?

If you're only staying one or two hours in the center, use the blue zone: it costs between €0.80 and €1.05 per hour depending on the street. If you're spending the whole day, an uncovered communal parking lot is more cost-effective than renewing the parking meter every few hours. If you go up to Funicamp, its parking has a full-day rate of €6.30. And if you come on a weekend, the blue zone is completely free.

How do the blue zone and green zone work in Encamp?

The blue zone is regulated street parking: you pay at the parking meter or via the e-parq app, with a limited time and hourly rates or 15-minute fractions. Encamp also has a green zone, which includes parking lots with parking meters (including the Les Pardines area), with a slightly lower rate but which is also paid on weekends. The most common mistake visitors make is confusing the two.

When do you pay and when is it free?

The blue zone (A and B) is paid from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 to 13:00 and from 15:00 to 20:00. It is free:

• Saturdays and Sundays, all day
• From 20:00 to 9:00 (nights)
• From 13:00 to 15:00 (midday break)
• Holidays exempt in all zones: January 1, March 14, September 8 (Meritxell) and December 25

If you are staying in Encamp for several days, communal car park passes significantly reduce the daily cost. They can be purchased before paying the exit ticket at the Arínsols car park office (Plaça dels Arínsols).

The most useful car parks in the center

• Arínsols: covered and underground, next to the Comú. The most comfortable if it rains or snows, and eligible for Park and Ride during ski season.

• Prat del Baró: uncovered and central, a good base for exploring the town on foot. Also eligible for Park and Ride.
• Prat de l'Areny: uncovered, next to the sports center. Usually has more availability than those in the center during busy periods.

• Funicamp: the cable car parking, with its own daily rate (see next section).

• Coma Llarga / Tremat: uncovered, a bit further from the center; useful when everything else is full during high season.

How does Funicamp parking work in summer?

Funicamp parking is located at the foot of the cable car that connects the town of Encamp with the Solanelles sector, in Grandvalira: a 6 km journey in about 15 minutes. It has a covered car park with capacity for about 500 vehicles and an outdoor one, both with a daily rate.

• Special full-day rate: €6.30 for the 8:00 to 20:00 schedule, with the first half hour free. This full-day rate only exists at Funicamp; in the rest of the communal car parks, you pay by the hour.
• In summer, the Funicamp operates from July 11 to September 8, 2026, from 10:00 to 16:00 (last ascent at 15:00), weather permitting. Tickets are sold on the same day at the Encamp Tourist Offices, next to the Funicamp access, from 9:00 to 15:00, with limited availability.

If you come with a motorhome or large van, the Feixes del Funicamp car park, next to the cable car, is equipped for these types of vehicles as a daytime parking area.

What is the Park and Ride in Encamp and when can I use it?

The Park and Ride (Aparca-Go) allows free parking in Encamp and access to Funicamp by shuttle bus when skiing with a Grandvalira ski pass. It is a ski season service, not a summer one.

It works like this:

1. Park in one of the four eligible communal car parks: Prat del Baró, Prat de l'Areny, Arínsols, or Coma Llarga.
2. Take the Funibus, the shuttle bus to Funicamp.
3. Validate your Grandvalira ski pass at the Tourist Office, next to Funicamp, or directly on the Funibus.
4. With validation, parking and the bus are €0: it's covered by the ski pass itself.

• If the center is full: there are usually blue zone B spaces on the CG-2 next to the tunnel entrance, at the village entrance. This is the reserve used by residents themselves during busy periods, such as long weekends or summer sales.
• Pay from your mobile: the e-parq app saves you from returning to the parking meter to renew your ticket and allows you to extend the time remotely, useful if you're delayed while eating.
• Full night in communal car park: if you arrive at night, the night rate from 22:00 to 8:00 (€5.20 uncovered, €7.15 covered) is cheaper than paying by the hour.
• First time change at 13:00: between 13:00 and 15:00 the blue zone is free; at these times many spaces are freed up in the center.

Two important warnings. The first: in Andorra, it is forbidden to stay overnight and camp with motorhomes, campers, or vans outside of campsites, camping areas, and authorized rest areas. Parking during the day in an authorized parking lot is legal; deploying awnings, stabilizer legs, or outdoor furniture already counts as camping and is only allowed in designated areas. The second: during the summer season, these spots fill up quickly on weekends; arrive before 11:00 if you want to secure a space.
